Anonymous asked: rodeo, yodeo what do you read-eo?

depends! i’m terrible for cracking the spine of a new book and after turning a few pages i find that my mind drifts to responsibilities or a reverie. at the moment i’m reading Evelyn Waugh’s Scoop while also darting between Donna Tartt’s The Little Friend.

in general, i don’t have a specific genre that i prefer more. when i pick up a book it’s because i’m attracted to it in some sense, either the author’s name rings a bell or i do what marilyn used to do; jump to a random paragraph and see if a connection is made. if i am to say i do have a preference in literature it is for exuberant and rich writing styles that are strong on description and creating a visceral world. as a result some of my fave authors are Vladimir Nabokov, Jonathan Safran Foer, Virginia Woolf, and Donna Tartt.
